There are numerous fishing spots within 15 miles of Avilla Farmhouse. Below are just a few. Follow the links for further information or have a look at this map of fisihing in the area. Please note and respect the permits/regulations in the linked websites. Meath The River Blackwater flows from Lough Ramor at the Nine Eyed Bridge through the Heritage town of Kells and on to join the Boyne at Navan. It has good stocks of wild brown from March to Spetember and is controlled by Kells Angling Club. The Irish Record Specimen Roach/Bream Hybrid caught from a boat was caught at Lough Kinale. (Weighing 5lbs 14ozs)The lake has good stocks of roach, bream, hybrids, eel, and pike. Lough Shellin is one of the larger lakes in the immediate vicinity. It is about 4 miles long and over one mile wide and has stocks of Brown Trout averaging about 1lb to 3lbs with fish to 10lbs and larger possible and Pike in season subject to regulations and close season. |
